I was watching Dinner at Tiffani’s and saw her make a delicious looking Lemon, Arugula and Ricotta flatbread pizza on a stovetop grill. Though I just purchased a much smaller stovetop grill last week, I realized I’d get a lot of use out of a larger one.
Our family has a tradition where we make homemade pizza on Friday nights. I usually make my own dough from scratch and use my pizza stones and make up to 4 traditional pies. However, I thought this was a fun and different alternative than we’re used to and I wanted to change things up.
We Saved $30+ by Using Google
I researched online and found a cast-iron double burner reversible grill/griddle. I thought that this was a great bang for my buck since it’s a two-in-one product and I could get a lot of use out of it. Not only can I make flatbread pizzas but also burgers and pancakes too! I also own a Lodge Cast Iron Skillet that I love using, so I thought this was a great option.
I first discovered The Lodge Cast-Iron Double Burner Reversible Grill/Griddle on Williams Sonoma and saw it was on sale for a “special savings price” of $74.95. At first glance, when I saw those words, I thought I was getting a great deal.
We quickly searched Google to see what other prices this product was listed at on other websites, and learned that this “special price” wasn’t really one at all.
It takes seconds to Google something, which can end up saving you a lot of money! For this and more money-saving tips, check out our article about How to Save Money When Shopping Online.
It’s important to note that Williams Sonoma does guarantee price matching, and I do get free standard shipping with my Williams Sonoma credit card. We ended up ordering the one I found on Amazon because we are subscribers to Amazon Prime and we get free 2-day shipping. I honestly didn’t want to wait a week to get my grill, so that’s the reason why we ended up going with Amazon instead of price-matching at Williams Sonoma.
If I wasn’t in such a rush to use it, I’d price match and get the rewards points on my credit card, which will ultimately result in rewards money from the company. Check out last week’s Frugal Friday, where I got to use my rewards money to help save $120 on a $185 bill.
